Established in 2009, the team at Integrated Financial Solutions has many years’ experience providing practical financial planning advice to people, families and businesses primarily in Bristol, Bath, Gloucestershire and the surrounding area as well as a number of clients located all across the UK.

We provide advice across a wide range of services including investments, savings, pensions and protection. We are committed to putting clients at the heart of everything we do and to developing long-term relationships. This is achieved by ensuring that we understand the individual needs of each client, and by implementing tailored financial plans and solutions to address those needs.

We also work with other trusted professionals within our industry that specialise in helping our clients arrange other aspects of financial planning and support such as:

  • Will writing and the arrangement of Lasting Power of Attorney

About Michael

Managing Director & Independent Financial Adviser

Michael established Integrated Financial Solutions in 2009. He is an experienced Financial Planner with over thirty years’ experience in the Financial Services Industry including several years at HSBC before setting up the Independent Adviser Firm, Personal Investment Management Ltd in 1997 with the aim of providing a quality client focused business. That business was eventually acquired by the then National Accountancy firm Bentley Jennison in 2006 and Michael became a partner.

Michael holds the Diploma in Financial Planning and has the Advanced qualification awarded by the Kinder Institute of Life Planning. Michael specialises in private client work with an emphasis on goals based financial planning, a key component of which is the LifePlan Cashflow System that he has developed. www.lifeplancashflow.co.uk

He is married to Vivienne, and they have two adult children. He works with clients all over the UK. In his spare time, Michael enjoys hiking and travel.

About Shaun

Independent Financial Adviser & Director

Shaun joined the Integrated team in 2012. He is a fully qualified independent financial adviser with over twenty seven years’ experience having spent most of his career with HSBC Bank Plc .

Shaun holds the Diploma in Financial Planning and is a member of the Personal Finance Society. He is committed to continued professional development.

He has a passion for his work and has always enjoyed advising a diversified range of clients on both personal & business financial planning. He is never happier than when he is faced with a challenge and has a positive approach to all that he does.

He is married to Georgina, and has 4 children, Jefferson, Amber, Charlotte & Rebecca. Shaun is a family man and works hard to maintain his work/life balance. He lives in Gloucester and has relationships with clients in the Gloucestershire area and beyond.

About Shaun

Independent Financial Adviser & Director

Shaun joined the Integrated Financial Solutions team in 2012. He has over twenty five years’ experience as a financial adviser.

Shaun holds the Diploma in Financial Planning and is a member of the Personal Finance Society. He has advised clients from a wide age range, so has a wealth of experience of financial planning needs at all stages of life.

He has studied at London Business School which has enabled him to specialise in dealing with corporate clients and is actively involved in assisting company directors with their strategic plans.

Shaun works with clients in Bath, Bristol, London and beyond. He is married to Debs and they have four children. In his spare time, Shaun enjoys rugby, food and wine.

About Jon

Operations Manager

Jon joined the company at its inception in January 2009. He has over 25 years’ experience in the Financial Services industry in various managerial and advisory roles with such companies as Aviva, Axa and HSBC Private Banking.

For the last 15 years he has worked with Michael Alderson at Personal Investment Management, Bentley Jennison and now Integrated Financial Solutions. Jon is qualified as an Associate of the Personal Finance Society and Chartered Insurance Institute.

Married to Lynn, with a daughter, Beth, Jon lives in Chipping Sodbury and enjoys watching football and travelling in his spare time.

About Sue


Sue joined the Integrated Financial Solutions team in March 2014. She has over 33 years’ experience working in financial services, 26 of these with HSBC Bank.

Sue is qualified to Diploma Level and is a member of the Personal Finance Society. Her main responsibilities are to provide a paraplanning support service to the advisers. She is a conscientious and diligent member of the team.

She is married to Mike and has two children, Katie and Harry. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, cycling and entertaining. She lives in Bath and is a keen supporter of Bath Rugby, cheering them on at The Rec whenever possible.

About Jane


Jane joined Integrated Financial Solutions in November 2013 as an Administrator providing administrative support for our advisers and clients.

Prior to joining us, Jane worked at HSBC for over 20 years with the majority of this time providing administrative support to Financial Advisers.

Previously from the Midlands and after marrying her husband Kevin, they spent time living in Chelmsford and Woking before moving to Yate in 1990 where they settled down to bring up their two boys Chris and Matt. In her spare time Jane enjoys cake baking and travelling with Kevin.

About Alexander


Having graduated from Exeter University in 2015, Alex joined the team as an Administrator in January 2016. Whilst new to the sector, and the youngest member of the team at 25, he brings enthusiasm and energy to the role and is looking forward to a long career in financial services.

He has progressed within the firm over the last 2 years and is now a Paraplanner  as well as studying for his professional exams. He has already successfully completed the Certificate in Financial Services and is hoping to achieve his diploma in regulated financial planning in 2018.

Alex is also an accomplished musician and enjoys playing in bands and writing his own music in his free time. He has just moved into his first flat in Bradford on Avon and is already beginning to feel at home in the area.

About Sarah


Sarah joined Integrated Financial Solutions in July 2017 as an Administrator providing support for our advisers and clients.

Prior to joining us, Sarah worked at AXA/Friends Life (and its many guises) for over 25 years providing administrative support to the business in several areas, mainly the Pension Review project and then the Compliance Complaints Team for the last 10 years of her time there.

After seeking a change from working in Bristol and having moved back to the countryside with her husband James, she is enjoying fresh air and fields again.  In her spare time, Sarah enjoys movies, cars and travelling with James.

About Rachael


Rachel joined Integrated Financial Solutions in July 2017 as an Administrator providing administrative support for our advisers and clients.  Prior to joining us, Rachel has worked mainly as an accounts assistant, most recently for Mercedes Benz.

Rachel lives in Melksham with her husband Tim and her two daughters Lacey and Evie. In her spare time, Rachel enjoys spending time with family and friends, walking her dogs and eating out.


About Bentley

The Office Dog

Born in Ireland on the 16th April 2012, Bentley the Beagle joined the team in 2017 as ‘The Office Dog’. He has very little experience in financial services but lots of experience in being loved and spoilt by the team.

His favourite pastimes are eating, sleeping and going out for walks (in that order). He has a passion for food and little else.  His favourite time of the day is lunchtime when he instantly becomes everyone’s best friend.

It’s great to have him around the place and he provides a cathartic element to the office.
